Decking by Design (DBD) is a company that designs and builds garden decking and furniture through out the British Isles.
The move to an on-line shop for Decking by Design was a move into unknown territory. A small company like Decking by Design did not have an initially large budget for such an unknown project. Therefore, it was agreed that the development of the web site would be implemented in a phased or piecemeal approach, with the most effective elements being provided first.
Stage One:
Build a simple collection of web pages to describe who Decking by Design was.
Build an on-line shop to display and sell Decking by Design's products. This would also provide stock control monitoring.
Stage Two:
Integrate a Content Management System into the web site giving Decking by Design complete control of their web content.
Re-design the site's look to a better quality and polished level.
Host the web site of this complex and demanding system on the Storm server, thus proving maximum performance and reliability.
Stage Three:
Build a Flash based application 'Deck Builder' for users to design their own deck before purchase.
